Salt, sand and sunscreen can build up around the case, crown and strap. After a day in the sea, give your watch a thorough rinse in fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth. And remember: never operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or underwater.

HITTING THE TRAILS?
Mud, dust and grit are all part of the adventure. Once you’re back, rinse away any debris and pay particular attention to the case, strap and around the lugs. A soft brush and fresh water can help remove anything that’s found its way into the hard-to-reach places.

Long summer days mean more exposure to sweat, sunscreen, UV and insect repellent. Give your watch a quick clean regularly to keep the case and strap looking their best. Some of the chemicals in these products can affect leather and rubber straps over time.
