New Team | New Smith Original Boots | New Lost Trades Fair Venue

NEW TEAM | NEW UPCOMING SPACE

2026, you've only just begun and there has already been a heap of change in our wee world. We have been growing in more ways than one...

Say hello to Matt & Bernadette (new in production), and Matt & Ellen (new in the shop) — the fresh faces helping us write the next chapter. As they dive into their new roles, wrap their heads around all that we do, and get to know all the legends who support us, they'll be doing everything they can to make you feel like nothing has changed in here. They're learning, they're settling in, and they're excited to bring you along for the ride.

To read up more on the team, click the above picture and scroll down to be taken to the Heritage page where they share a little bit about themselves.

Over the next few months, we're doubling our shop and production area, and building out a brand new space where everyone can come in and get hands-on with our products.

There's plenty more to share as the build takes shape (check our Instagram to keep updated), but for now, we'll all be here, there's a real buzz around the place, come in and say hi, it's infectious.

NEW | THE SMITH ORIGINAL BOOT

We're kicking things off with a limited run of Smith Work Boots. This version will be made out of our local Cocoa bovine leather and built on a Vibram Tuscany sole and ready to ship. If you've been waiting for the perfect moment to jump in, this is it. Please read about sizing and stock levels below.

Since launching the Smith boot, it has paralled our other two core boots (the Gordon and the Jack) for popularity. It's for people that want something different, the ability to wear it more casually or dress it up, and those after a more relaxed toe shape. Having truly earned its stripes, we're officially adding the Smith Work Boot to our Originals range.

The Smith Work Boot is our no-nonsense take on the classic Australian Chelsea work boot — tough, unfussy, and built to go wherever you go. The lower elastic gives it a more relaxed look than our dressier Jack Gusset boots, so it plays just as well with shorts as it does with your everyday work pants.

Built on the Milton last, the Smith gives you a rounder, roomier toe box and the flexibility to run either with the provided padded innersole or alternate to thick socks if you prefer to pull it out. Comfort that adapts to you, not the other way around. Slip into a pair and feel what handmade means — no shortcuts, no compromises, just boots made like they used to.

To start with, we'll have one of each size from 8-11.5 on the Milton E last available in stock ready to ship. If these all go, we'll continue it as an Original boot and create some more stock as we go. We're hoping if these sell well we'll be able to make another small batch based on orders taken to bring with us to the Lost Trades Fair (end of March) or ship out beforehand.

If something is in stock, it will show the number in stock above the Add To Cart button. If it's no longer in stock, it will show as Place Order.

Price for the Smith Boot Original $925 AUD.

After almost two years of wear, the soles of these original Smiths (in the same make up) have darkened significantly. Jess doesn't treat them all that well, it's a bit of a case of do as I say, not as I do with him... nonetheless these guys have stood up well to some neglect. They should get better with age.

NEW VENUE | LOST TRADES FAIR 2026 HANGING ROCK

We're excited to be joining the Lost Trades crew at a new venue at Hanging Rock in Victoria this year.

The fair will for the first time be held in late March, so for those of you caught up previously at the Port Fairy Folk Festival, or Chill Out Festival, now's your chance.

To purchase tickets, click on the picture above. Please note there will be no ticket sales at the gate so they must be purchased online beforehand (limited reception on site).

Come meet the new team at the foot of the rock.

Please note our Ballarat shop will be closed that entire weekend (closed Friday 27th and Saturday 28th March).

Also, how good's the new artwork by our old mate Travis Price?

PPHH THIS WEEKEND!

It's that time again — our once–every–few–months boot party in the city is back.

We'll be setting up camp at the PPHH Fitzroy shop on Gertrude Street from 1pm–4pm on this Sunday, 22 February, rolling in with a stack of fitting stock so you can slip into:

• Smith Boots
• Gordon Boots
• Charlie Boots (Charlie toe)
• Lo-Dub Sneakers
• Jack Gusset Boots (Stanley E last)

If you've been meaning to drop by the workshop but life keeps getting in the way, consider this your sign. Come try things on, get sized up, and make a little afternoon adventure out of it on Gertrude Street. It's basically the perfect Sunday.

This might be the last time you'll see Krys in Melbourne for a little while as we're expecting a little one in early May.
