The final ocean crossing took Race Crew on a 3,115nm passage from Washington, DC, USA to Oban, Scotland, where crews had a typical Scottish welcome!
Conditions were fast reaching and downwind sailing across the North Atlantic, with teams contending with the influence of the Gulf Stream, where favourable currents boosted boat speeds.
Success came down to positioning, taking advantage of the low-pressure systems that form off the US East Coast and track across the Atlantic, delivering fast, exhilarating sailing before a picturesque approach into Oban.

One last push down the West Coast of the UK to finish in Portsmouth on Saturday 25th July. We’re expecting big crowds to welcome the teams back to Portsmouth after an epic race.
