Earlier in the year Nite Maverick, Gareth de la Torre qualified for this month's team event known as the Commando Shuffle in Scotland where he pitted himself against elite serving members of the Royal Marines and Paras. The pace was quick and the course was tough but Gareth's stamina and determination were more than up for it.
Did his MX10 survive? Of course it did! | | Finishing the 6.7 mile course in just 1 hour 9 minutes while carrying a 36lb rucksack is no mean feat.
This challenge was yet another ideal training session for the build up to 26th April, when Gareth will once again run the London Marathon in full military kit, boots, and a 40lb rucksack while raising funds for the Royal Marines Charity to support veterans and serving Royal Marines.
Every event, every training session, is another chapter in Gareth's story of grit and determination. A true Maverick. | | NITE Watches Unit 14 Silver Business Park, Airfield Way, Christchurch, Dorset BH23 3TA United Kingdom | | | | |
