Salone Del Mobile 2019, the Year of Euroluce.

As Euroluce returns to Salone del Mobile Milan this year, we round up the latest releases from the most notable lighting brands from around the world.

Salone del Mobile is the most anticipated week in the annual design calendar, with a plethora of new product launches, mind-blowing installations and the most coveted international designers all gathered in one place. The Euroluce, the International Lighting Exhibition, has run as fair theme every two years since 1976 and presents the most innovative solutions in the field of light for interiors and exteriors.

The array of designs encompasses the very latest devices for outdoor, indoor and industrial lighting to lighting for shows and events, hospital lighting and special use lighting, home automation and lighting systems, light sources and lighting application software.

We hope you enjoy our Euroluce highlights of 2019,

LASVIT - LASVIT holds an almost unparalleled passion for light, a passion they've decided to express as theory. The company name itself, LASVIT, is a fusion of the Czech words 'Love' (LÁska) and 'Light' (SVIT). Winner of Salone Del Mobile "Milano Design Award 2018" the brand never fails to produce an awe-inspiring installation. And this, the year of Euroluce, provided the perfect platform to share their own "Theory of Light". Showcasing four installations titled reflection, perception, spectrum and nature - each offered visitors an experience of extravagant elegance.

"All four lighting installations showcased unique features of pristine glass," says president and founder Leon Jakimič. Mária Čulenová-Hostinová, Wanda Valihrachová, Maxim Velčovský, Kateřina Handlová and Katarína Kudějová Fulínová all contributed pieces to the exhibition and each installation was inspired by one of the elements of Lasvit's Theory, stating that the beauty of light consists of four key elements: reflection, spectrum, nature and perception, while also intending to demonstrate "the beauty and power of light" hidden within the glass itself.

WONDERGLASS - Shape of Gravity, an exhibition of works by nendo for WonderGlass, included Melt, a cast glass furniture and table top collection including the launch of a new gravity formed cast glass chandelier. The layered design featured sparkling glass seemingly floating in the air that when lit create a shimmering effect with light bouncing from one piece to the next. Measuring almost 2.5 metres in diameter, the cascading chandelier floated above the Melt furniture providing gentle illumination that will detail the rippling texture of the glass. Further exemplifying

WonderGlass' expertise and dedication to the extraordinary design possibilities within the glass realm. The creation of Melt was a unique and complex production. nendo's Oki Sato was inspired by watching the craftspeople in the WonderGlass workshops working with molten, melted glass. His intention thereafter was to allow the material to direct the design process. This resulted in a method of laying hot glass sheets over steel shapes, and suspended between steel bars to allow the natural drape of the material to reveal its form.

RWB- Rich Brilliant Willing collaborated as the exclusive lighting partner for Rapt Studio's debut at this year's Salone del Mobile. The installation titled 'Tell Me More' was an interactive, immersive installation at Ventura Centrale, displaying a grand installation of RBW's Vitis, Centro pendants, and Crisp sconce lighting collections along the walls. Tell Me More explored the intersection of spatial experience and emotional connection, offering visitors the opportunity to experience a microcosm of

a Rapt-designed environment. Tell Me More aimed to explore the intersection of spatial experience and emotional connection, offering visitors the opportunity to experience a microcosm of a Rapt-designed environment. Inspired by the feeling of entering a beloved space, the two-part installation consists of an arrival chamber and expansive lounge, which serve as a backdrop to explore human connection.

LAMBERT & FILS - Lambert & Fils specialises in craft, handmade lighting, founded by Samuel Lambert and based inMontreal, Canada. Centred around preserving the bond between design and making, all lighting is conceived, designed and hand-assembled in the Lambert & Fils atelier in downtown Montreal. The concept for Caffè Populaire was to turn shared values into a collaboration. To create down to earth, generous human encounters. A harmonious gathering of material, people and space. A place in which visitors felt humbled by the grand venue and the raw but refined materials within.

Lambert & Fils showcased two new contemporary lighting collections: Sainte and Hutchison. These dramatic forms filled the rooms of the factory to create a conversation of opposites - raw and refined, past and present. Inspired by Middle Eastern archways and Roman terracotta roofs, Hutchison summons archetypal shapes into a contemporary pendant light. Streamlined yet impactful, Sainte reimagines the archetypal rectangle in layered, colourful glass — an elegant mass floating in space and supported by robust nylon straps.
