Eames Lounge Ottoman. Same quality, more options.

After 60 years, there's still nothing quite like it.

In 1956, Charles and Ray Eames envisioned the ultimate lounge chair. With the “warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman’s mitt”, the Herman Miller Eames® Lounge Chair and Ottoman became an instant —and enduring—design icon.

With the same luxurious comfort and handcrafted detail of the original, the set is now available in an expanded range of options to accomodate even more sizes and tastes.

We've changed. But the comfort built in to the authentic Eames Lounge & Ottoman remains the same.

Tall Version / Was $7,990 Now $6,995

In the six decades since the Eames Lounge and Ottoman was released, the average adult height has increased by about an inch. Working together with the Eames Office—still run by the Eames family—Herman Miller worked to perfect a 'Tall' edition with subtly altered proportions to ensure it continues to provide the same superior comfort for most.

What's in the making of a classic?

Eames Lounge and Ottoman

The process of making an Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman has changed a little over the decades. The curing for binding the plywood has changed. The "shock mount" that joins the metal leg to the curved wood has been refined. Yet the process is still guided by human hands in a way that's virtually identical to that developed by Charles and Ray Eames all those years ago.
