A TRAILBLAZER FOR GREECE AJ Ginnis has put snowsports back on the map for a country traditionally known for its crystal-clear Mediterranean waters and sunshine. After winning silver at the FIS Alpine World Championships in Courchevel Meribel, France a year ago, Ginnis became the first Greek athlete to win a World Championship medal in a snow or ice-based Olympic sport.

Undeterred... AJ has refused to let his six knee surgeries and a devastating blow such as being cut by the USST to stop him from becoming one of FIS World Cup skiing's elite racers. After failing to make the US team, AJ got creative. In 2021, AJ decided he would represent his native Greece, and became the first Greek alpine racer to register World Cup points after placing eleventh at a slalom event in Austria... AJ notched another top-10 placement for himself in his second race of this year's 2023-24 campaign at Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, and has placed 14th, 13th, and 12th respectively over the last three World Cup starts...
