Once, in discussing the design of Herman Miller's New York showroom, the words 'good design' were used. Charles Eames said,"Don't give us that good design crap. You never hear us talk about that. The real questions are: Does it solve a problem? Is it serviceable? How is it going to look in ten years?'" Like all classics, the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman get better with age, in part because of how they are made. The combination of craft and manufacturing consistency results in pieces that are genuinely authentic, lasting the tests of time. |
