From movie projects to designing jackets A Quick Chat With Bobby Brown   Spyder - Hey Bobby. Are you getting stoked for this season with all this new snow in Colorado? Bobby - I'm really excited. Last year was an amazing year coming back from my knee injury. Excited to keep building on the momentum we created last year. S - Now that Spyder is back in the freeski game and you are one of their team riders, can you briefly tell us the story of how everything emerged? B - Really cool to see Spyder back in the freeski game. Their roots have always been in this world so it's awesome to be a part of the reemergence of the brand in this space. I was on a Red Bull trip with Chris Davenport, who has been a part of Spyder forever. We were talking about plans for the upcoming season and it came up that I no longer was riding for an outerwear brand. He got in touch with Brady at Spyder and that's where it all started. I grew up in Denver, CO which is 30 minutes from Spyder's main headquarters. They were exploring the opportunity of relaunching the freeski line. It was a perfect fit. I'm really grateful for everything we have created since. S - You even got your own pro model. Can you tell us a little bit more about it? B - It's crazy. I have worked with other brands on similar things but this was the first time my opinion was really welcomed. The design team at Spyder is made up of great people and the process of designing my line was incredibly fun. I can't wait to see where we can take it! S - Can you take us through some of the technologies of your model? B - Everything is Gore-Tex™. That is super important especially when you are going out on longs trips into the backcountry. The performance of your gear is crucial. This year was a great year of "product testing" and the results were amazing. There are always things to work on to the enhance it, but we are at a really good place. S - Let's switch to skiing! Last season, you worked on your project called "Dynamic Medium". Can you tell us a little bit more about it? B - This was the best season to date. Like I said earlier, it was my first year back after hurting my knee. I wasn't sure if I would be back to skiing at this level. It took a while to work back into the swing of things but I am really excited on the final product. What's up this season? Are you planning another project? We are going to to be doing webisodes dropping every 2 weeks with Red Bull. Along with that I will be filming a segment with Matchstick. It's been a long time since I have linked up with that crew, so I am really excited. What are the chances we see a Spyder team movie? That would be all time! Let's make that happen...
