Living On with Living Edge

LivingOn with Living Edge

Introduced in 2008, LivingOn is our commitment to taking responsibility for our impact on the environment.

At Living Edge, we know that the impact design has on the world is far greater than we can imagine. We also know that the influence of good design extends beyond the built environment. It embraces the possibilities for a better ecology, better health, and a better future.

We bear responsibility for the impact our business has on the world. We're committed to consistent improvement in all our practices, while ensuring our customers enjoy the world's best designs.

 What sustainability means to us.

For us, sustainability is about protecting the environment and promoting the wellbeing of all those who interact with our brand – our customers and our people.

  • Becoming carbon neutral. In 2017, Living Edge became carbon neutral. We did this by measuring and reporting on the emissions we'd generated right across our business, and having this report independently audited. We then purchased enough carbon credits to offset our carbon footprint for 2017.
  • Supplying furniture for life. We choose to supply furniture that's designed to be passed down from generation to generation and eventually recycled at the end of its long life.
  • Helping our customers be their best. We offer our customers products and advice to create healthier, happier homes and workplaces. We can help our commercial customers achieve WELL, LEED or Green Star certification, or simply be more sustainable.
  • Looking after our people. We're introducing WELL initiatives into our showrooms and offices, and a health and wellness program for all our people.

Projects | 1 William Street
1 William Street stands as a key achievement for Living Edge's Single Source initiative. Living Edge co-ordinated all design and logistical requirements pertaining to: tender preparation, product sourcing, supplier engagement, supplier sub-contracting, contract administration, program development, project approvals, logistics and defect management. Streamlining the business of design contracting in such a way not only affords greater efficiency in the supply chain management, but greater transparency and control of all freight, sourcing and emissions generated from getting product from the factory floor to installation in situ. As a Single Source project, 1 William Street was the inaugural tender in which Living Edge assigned a fully-dedicated project team to facilitate the design delivery – with highly choreographed carbon offsetting and sustainable measures in place that reflect the total ecological impact of the build in a manner that has never been matched heretofore: comprising some 24 suppliers, supplier in excess of 17,000 pieces of product.
